The procurement process for the concession in Port of Luleå has now been completed, and today the contract was signed with ShoreLink.
– This agreement is very important for both continuity and development, says Anders Dahl, CEO at Port of Luleå.

The new contract for the operation and maintenance of Victoriahamnen will come into effect on 1 April 2026. Currently, approximately 8.5 million tonnes of cargo are loaded and unloaded annually in Port of Luleå, a volume expected to increase during the upcoming years. Anders Dahl says, Victoriahamnen plays a central role in the flow of goods passing through northern Sweden.

– It is reassuring to have the agreement in place with ShoreLink, who is an experienced operator in logistic solutions. This is important for both the continuity and development of our daily operations, as well as for the port’s expansion, he says.

ShoreLink has served as the port operator since 2016 and will continue to be responsible for loading, unloading and storage of goods, while also contributing to the port’s ongoing development in line with industry needs. Daniel Smirat (S), Chair of Port of Luleå, is positive to continue a good collaboration.

– To meet the needs of the industry, we are expanding the port and thereby increasing our cargo capacity. On this journey, ShoreLink will be an invaluable partner for us and a key player for the entire region, says Daniel Smirat.

The new contract extends up to 18 years and includes opportunities related to parts of Port of Luleå’s expansion. The goal is that Victoriahamnen within a few years will be ready to handle more cargo and vessel traffic.

– We are proud and pleased with the confidence placed in us by Port of Luleå, that we continue as port operator and will be part of building future maritime transport. Together with Port of Luleå, our employees, and partners we look forward to drive sustainable development, innovation and growth in the port, says Peter Mörtlund, CEO of ShoreLink.
